I am aware of the need to maintain privacy and confidentiality. I always write in a diary about your child's day (which you take home) and discuss with you any issues or concerns.

Behaviour

I recognise the need to set reasonable limits to help manage the behaviour of children in my care. I do not and will not administer physical punishment or any form of punishment with the intention of causing pain or discomfort, or any kind of humiliating or hurtful treatment to any child in my care.

I endorse positive discipline as a more effective way of setting limits for children.

Positive discipline means:

• Rewarding good behaviour

• Encouraging self-discipline

• Setting a good example

• Being consistent

• Building children's self esteem
